We print postcards using the small scale Kyo Karakami printing kit “KARAKAMI KIT”.
Choose from 9 different Karakami patterns, gold/silver paint and 10 different colored cards to print your own original postcard. You can bring home all the cards you print, perfect as a small souvenir. The karakami patterns have a nostalgic feel, like you have seen them somewhere before. The KARAKAMI KIT use smaller versions of real large scale karakami patterns from ancient printing blocks, the same materials and techniques as the large scale Karakami are used, however it’s smaller size makes it simpler to print, ensuring a carefree experience.
At the workshop tour, we will specially show the woodblock used for about 180 years.
All participants will receive a Karagami bookmark (one piece) as a small gift.
