  • One of the experience venue “Hino-shuku Honjin” is a related building for the Shinsengumi, the Japanese last samurai, and that has stood for around 150 years.
  • You can put on a Haori, the Shinsengumi costume, over your clothes and pose with replica sword for some souvenir photos.
  • Swinging around the replica sword is strictly forbidden for safety’s sake.
  • On the way to the second experience venue, we will stop by the souvenir shop where you can find a variety of Shinsengumi-reletad souvenirs.
  • At the second experience venue, handmade udon shop “Dontaku”, you will cook udon and tempura with a guidance of the owner.
  • After the cooking, you can taste your own handmade udon and tempura.
  • Making this event to be more special, you can try the owner’s selection of Sake with the extra charge.

Description

①Meeting/reception
Please meet a guide at Hino Station on JR Chuo Line 10 min before the starting time for checking in.

②Explanation
・On the way to the experience venue, we will stop by the related place of the Shisengumi and we will tell you a brief story about them.
・At the experience place, we will explain the precautions and the flow of the experience.

③About the experience
・Put a Haori over your clothes and pose with replica sword for some souvenir photos.
・Looking around freely at the Hino-shuku Honjin with the costume on.
・The multilingual explanation videos are available on your smartphone or a tablet.
Free Wi-Fi is also available.
・You will take the Haori off and the first experience ends.
・We will take you to the second experience venue while stopping by the souvenir shop
on the way. It will be about 10-15mins’ walk.
・At the second experience venue “Dontaku”, we will explain the precautions and the
flow of the experience.
・Put on a Japanese working cloths, which is known as Samue, over your clothes and
the second experience program will begin.
・Cooking udon and tempura with a help of the owner.

④Disband
・The program will be disbanded when you finish cooking.
・You can have your own handmade udon and tempura after the program.

    ・Since Hino-shuku Honjin was built over 150 years ago, it has some large gaps. Please understand that it is difficult to look around in a wheelchair.
    ・Please fill in the column on application form, if you are allergic to a specific food or substance, have a worrisome symptom, or have any other concerns about your physical condition or constitution. The host will reply.

Cancellation Policy

(1) Cancellation made eight (8) days prior to the scheduled date of activities or earlier: No cancellation charge

(2) Cancellation made between seven (7) to four (4) days prior to the scheduled date of activities: 50% of the Participation Charges

(3) Cancellation made between three (3) days prior to the scheduled date to the scheduled date: 100% of the Participation Charges

Participation Condition

13 years old~
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.
You need to be over 130 cm or under 190 cm.
・In order to ensure the safety of all participants, those who fall under any of the following categories cannot participate.
Those under the influence of alcohol
Those who the organizer judges that safety cannot be ensured
・Please do not attend the event, if you are not feeling well.

Holding condition

Be held on rainy weather.
If it is judged to be canceled due to circumstances, the host will contact you on the day.
